Welcome to The Footwork League, a specialized fighting federation where feet, legs and footwear take center stage.
FWL is not exclusively a barefoot federation. Every fighter brings his own style into the league and may compete barefoot, in socks, sneakers, wrestling boots or other character-appropriate footwear. Traditional wrestling, submission fighting, kick-based combat and fantasy fighting are all welcome, provided that feet, legs or footwear play a meaningful role in the encounter.
FWL matches can range from serious, evenly contested fights to playful rivalries, fetish scenarios and dominant squash matches. Fighters may use kicks, stomps, scissors, foot pins, toe holds, ankle locks and other forms of foot-focused control. Shoes and socks may remain on, be removed during the fight or become part of the match stipulation, depending on what the participants agree upon.
The league welcomes dominant fighters, submissive fighters, switches, jobbers and competitive all-rounders. Nobody is required to assume a specific role or participate in content outside their interests. Every match should be discussed beforehand, including the preferred footwear, intensity, tone, limits and planned or undecided outcome.
Members can arrange casual fights, create rivalries, form teams, challenge champions and participate in organized tournaments or special events. Whether you intend to rule with crushing bare soles, sweaty socks, prized sneakers or heavy wrestling boots, there is a place for you in the FWL.
Championships!
FWL World Championship:
The league’s primary championship. It is open to every fighter and every approved footwear style. The champion represents the strongest overall competitor in the FWL.
FWL Barefoot Championship:
Contested in matches centered on bare feet, soles and toes. Specific stipulations may be chosen by the champion and challenger.
FWL Sock Championship:
Contested in matches placing socked feet at the center of the action. The reigning champion may choose the sock style or propose a special sock-related stipulation.
FWL Sneaker Championship:
The championship for sneaker-focused fighting and domination. Sneakers remain an important part of every title match unless otherwise agreed.
FWL Submission Championship:
Awarded to the league’s leading submission specialist. Defences emphasize scissors, toe holds, ankle locks and other foot- or leg-based restraints.
FWL Tag-Team Championship:
Contested by established teams whose members combine their individual fighting and footwork styles.
Golden Sole Cup:
An annual tournament open to different styles and divisions. Winning the Golden Sole grants prestige and a future opportunity to challenge for the FWL World Championship.
Signature match types!
Footwork Match: A standard wrestling or fighting contest in which feet, legs or footwear must feature prominently.
Underfoot Match: A fighter wins by holding his opponent beneath one foot for a ten-count.
Sole Submission Match: Victory can only be achieved through an agreed foot- or leg-focused submission.
Socks Stay On: Both competitors must remain in socks. Deliberately removing them results in disqualification.
Last Sock On: Victory is achieved by removing both of the opponent’s socks while keeping at least one of your own.
Sneaker Match: Both fighters compete in sneakers, which remain central to the action and any agreed domination.
Footwear versus Footwear: Each competitor represents a different style, such as socks against sneakers or boots against bare feet.
Strip the Sole: Footwear is removed progressively throughout the match until one or both fighters are barefoot.
Walkover Match: The contest ends when one fighter verbally acknowledges the other as the superior foot fighter.
Sole Survivor: A multi-fighter elimination contest in which the last remaining competitor wins.
