Just watched the playback on the bathroom brawl from the Gunn project. Absolutely brutal. That’s exactly how you do a proper screen fight—no capes, no green-screen nonsense, just two massive blokes tearing each other apart in a concrete box.

Kinnaman and Cena didn't hold back. When Kinnaman drops into that top mount, he’s not just posing; he’s anchoring his weight right over Cena's pelvis, locking him down properly. You can feel the sheer exhaustion just watching it. To sell a grapple like that, you have to be completely switched on—muscles constantly under tension, veins popping, gear grinding into the dirt. It takes massive core strength to keep that level of physical resistance looking believable when you’re inches apart.

The audio design is what really does the business. No over-the-top Hollywood score blasting over it—just the raw, animalistic grunts of two men blowing out their lungs, leather gear squeaking, and heavy combat boots digging into the shattered tiles for traction. It reminded me of some of the tight-quarters work we did on The Expendables or Hobbs & Shaw. When you ground a fight by showing the boots sliding and gripping the floor, the audience instantly feels the gravity of it.

The finish is a proper gut-punch. Flag is completely dominant, pouring every ounce of strength into that pipe choke, biceps totally pumped, only to get caught by a blind, desperate counter with a jagged bit of porcelain. Brilliant pacing. It shows that in a real, dirty street fight, absolute physical dominance can vanish in a split second if you lose focus for a breath. Proper cinema, that.
