Being born into Italian nobility was both a blessing and a curse. My family lost its royal privileges, if not its titles, in 1946 when the monarchy was dissolved. Stripped of power and financial security, we struggled to maintain our lifestyle and stay in our ancestral villa. That feeling of powerlessness settled into many of us—some fought fiercely against the scarcity, while others resigned themselves to it. I still don’t know where I fall between resisting and surrendering.

Quick to anger and aggression, I can be triggered by the frustration and loss I've witnessed in my own family, but equally strong are the feelings of despair and weakness, from the experience. I can be intense, and I'm not afraid to go to dark places, but I usually end up alright. I want to hear what you have to say.
