looking for genuine pro wrestling fans

well u seem to be similar to me. I am a WWE fan myself and got somehow spoiled by few pro wrestlers in trunks. I don't enjoy other stuff apart from pro wrestling. But for some reason I get turned on by wrestling in trunks even though I never think about anything other than wrestling. It's a bit of a relief to know that there are people similar to me. I love all stuff related to wrestling such as stories, ahowboating, cool high flying moves, great technical holds and show off of strength with power moves and I can keep going on lol

yeah even though i watch it to get hard, just watching the action and men being cocky and brutal is entertaining and sometimes arousing. usually it’s the matches that don’t try to be erotic that end up being the hottest

very true, the best hot matches are the ones that are purely pro wrestling action with lots of intense action from both guys, the moves, the use of the ring, the attitude, oh yeah that makes a great hot match and of course the match it is not erotic itself but it really works!

hey all! since i was very young, i’ve been into wrestling as an erotic fantasy but now i think i wanna try enjoying it as an athletic art form. so i’d like to make friends with those in here who watch wrestling as more than softcore porn. no judgment towards those that do, but i’m trying to pay more respect to the wrestlers that have been apparent in a couple of my wet dreams despite them not intending to do so. whether you’re a fan of wwe, aew, or indy wrestling, please reach out to me :)

Definitely a topic one would wish to talk about more often myself every now and then. After all, some of the story put into those matches are great! But I'll admit, I'm quite outdated with current WWE's storyline and wrestling. Been paying more attention to the local indie wrestling.

I agree with you 100%! The older matches had better storylines and more intimate venues like the TV studios that WCW had back in the day!

yeah the current wwe roster just lacks that charm the older wrestlers had. it’s not just that actually, wwe now just looks so… polished, if that makes sense. what indie wrestlers do you usually watch nowadays? and where do you usually watch their matches?

I agree with you, I think the wrestlers from the 70' & 80's had better characters and those wrestlers were better at presenting their wrestling personas.

The ones I watch are locals from my place. So we're not really so huge. Unless for some reason you have heard of some like IWA and WCW or so. Still, sometimes we do see some crazy things bigger federations won't do. Last time I went to watch an indie wrestling show live, the wrestlers pull out two chair and clash them together. Of course, as expected, it was a no contest via DQ later. But the idea was simple and interesting.

As for the WWE statement, hmmm.... I think I understand it. but I don't think it is all that bad. Polished can be as good as it can be bad depending on how the storyline and gimmicks are executed. For example, I just really dislike we have influencers like Logan and Jake tainting the entertainment of this sport. Their whole gimmick is just influencers and promoting Prime. Why we putting them? Bad enough they ruined boxing, but they be ruining wrestling for me too. Yeah, Logan performs moves well. But the story is just.... meh.

Now put someone like Gunther? Which was one of the newest wrestlers I recall? And you have my attention with his gimmick. But I guess Gunther also kind of falls into the older wrestler aesthetic too considering for someone who is new generation, his whole gimmick is the old reliable "Ring General". Which means he treats the ring as a sacred area where only the strongest stay in.

Then there is wrestlers like Tyson and Apollo who have my attention as well! I want to see these two come back if possible as well! There's a lot of wrestlers who don't even end up televised and I believe Tyson is one of the few examples of WWE wrestlers who are just never given a chance to shine.

i think i’ve seen youtube vids of IWA and WCW matches, not that i actively sought them out they just appeared on my fyp.

i totally get your point about the paul brothers. and gunther definitely is a modern legend. i think what i meant more specifically about wwe being too polished is that everything feels scripted and sure it always has been but it lacks soul now, you get what i mean? like that theatricality that they had pre-covid is gone. that and they just keep repeating the same gimmicks over and over again. like wowww a mysterious masked heel interfered with a match he’s not part of, haven’t seen a million of those already.

this might be a reach but it feels like their target audience these days are just right-leaning people and for some reason, children

Ah, like they polish it too hard and it gets to the point it might be too rushed or so? Or like they don't risk with new ideas as they play it safe? If so, I might be understanding better now. But if that isn't it, I'm at least glad to hear your views as well.

As for the name, I only know Apollo who goes by Apollo Crew. Tyson.... I don't know his full name in the ring. But these are two I look up to a lot when I was watching them consistently.

I'd assume you mean Tyson Kidd? He was excellent, really a shame he had that freak injury as he was finally starting to be more of a mainstay.

No, no. More current than Tyson Kidd and Tyson Dux. I believe the Tyson I have in mind is from NXT, but he only appeared in house show. Never ended up broadcasted on television. Which is crazy because he's pretty okay to be on television in my book
