Story of the week?

I cannot really say if it is biased or not as I never really cared much for story of the week myself. My only opinion is that, to my extended knowledge, I do not think a single anthro character ever made it to story of the week. But it is because as it says. They are mainly choosing based on likes, I suppose. And anthroes struggles there because they don't get as much likes as people are not here for anthro fighters usually.

There is definitely a bias at times let's be honest. There are stories that have half the likes and comments of others posted in the same week that get selected as story of the week, and certain members get it far more regularly than others. I couldn't care less as it's irrelevant but 100% there is some bias towards certain members who are more "inside" the circle or ones that whoever approves them prefers.

Hello Everyone,

There are factors beyond votes taken into account when deciding which story receives the award. The information we give on the Story of the Week page is as follows:

"Story of the Week is chosen by the site based on your votes. Vote for your favorite stories; the highest voted stories are eligible for becoming the Story of the Week!

Please keep it fun and real. Do not solicit others to vote for your stories, or vote for your own stories."

Simply put, any one factor, such as a high number of votes, does not guarantee a story will be chosen.

There is also a human element, so it isn't a mechanical process. We employ methods to protect against cheating.

This is all we are sharing about the internal selection process. I hope this answers your question.

Best Regards,
ChatFighters Staff

We see no reason to delete the thread at this time.

If the topic was important enough to bring up on the public forum, then it doesn't hurt for it to be answered and kept publicly available for all our users to reference.

Hopefully, this has cleared up some of the confusion about the process.

I just got a 'vibe' that further discussion would be unnecessary.

Normally, it's the number of votes or likes that decides the story of the month. At least, that's what the page introducing them says: "Story of the Week is chosen by the site based on your votes. Vote for your favorite stories; the highest voted stories are eligible for becoming the Story of the Week!". In 2025, I obtained 3 for different stories, each having received more than 10 votes.

I am wondering what the criteria is. How you determine what becomes the story of the week? It does not appear to be solely determined by number of πŸ‘ or comments recieved. or views? are there other factors? perhaps a voting review board?

Probably just what gets the admin's jimmies jimmying. I've somehow gotten 2, but I have a 17 or 19 πŸ‘ story that didn't get it, so no idea.
