Jonners: "Your next match is over one fall, sub or KO. Introducing first, weighing in at 5'9 180 lbs from Bradford, JONNERS!"
Jonners: Head down to the ring,wearing red trunks and matching boots. High fiving with the fans. Step onto the ring apron, step into the ring, stretch in my corner
Mike_King: "And his opponent in this middleweight War of the Roses, from Manchester, also at 5'9" but weighing 175lbs, Mike King, The Real Thing!"
Mike_King: I push out of the door into the auditorium and trot down the aisle, white trunks and navy boots. I acknowledge the good wishes of my fans and stop to sign an autograph or two, then reach the ring. I pull up onto the apron and vault the top rope, then stand in my corner, rolling my neck and shoulders.
Jonners: The ref checks me over - all clean. Step to the centre to ait the refs pep talk
Mike_King: I raise my boots and hold out my hands for the ref. He gives me the all clear and I follow him to the centre for the ring where Jonners is waiting. I give him a nod then stand, hands on hips, to listen to the ref.
Jonners: Nod back to Mike, listen to the ref. Offer a handshake
Mike_King: Shake firmly. "May the better man win, Jonners."
Jonners: Shake firmly, head back to my corner, awaiting the bell
Mike_King: I return to my corner and lean in, pulling on the top rope.
Mike_King: DING!!!!!
Mike_King: I push out and turn, then crouch and raise my arms and circle.
Jonners: Push out and circle. Raise arms, moving in for the initial lock up
Mike_King: I move in to meet you, slamming in for the collar and elbow, one hand to the back of your neck, the other to the crook of your arm. I take the strain.
Jonners: Plant boots, grunting as we muscle against each other. Twisting, looking to gain the advantage
Mike_King: Testing you out, moving you up and down hoping to sense an opening but we are too equally matched so I drop one arm, lean into you and slip the other round your neck for a side headlock.
Jonners: You wrap your arms around my neck, locking in a side headlock. Slap at your back, press my hand on your back, pushing you towards the ropes
Mike_King: Oh no! I see the ropes coming towards me and quickly I twist into you and hip toss you to the canvas. I keep the hold on as I lie across you, chest to chest.
Jonners: Fly up high, crashing to the mat. Legs kicking, trying to buck you off me
Mike_King: I struggle to hold you down as you buck but my grip starts to loosen.
Jonners: Kick hard, bucking out. Roll on the mat, pushing up, circling
Mike_King: I roll away after you push me off and kick up to standing. I circle again, arms raised.
Jonners: Move in, arms raised. At the last second, drop under your arms, headbutt to your abs
Mike_King: Ooffff... I double over holding my hairy gut.
Jonners: Wrap my arms around your neck, applying a side headlock. Walk you around the ring, working your neck
Mike_King: I allow myself a bit of a grin, finding myself in the same move I attacked with, but only for a moment. I push my hands against your back and arm but you have me tight so instead I get you in a waist hold, lean back to lift you off your feet then drop you down, base of spine on my bended knee.
Jonners: Smile at the fans as I feel you struggle in my head lock. Hoisted up in your waist hold, dropped onto your knee in an atomic drop. Release the headlock, stagger around the ring, holding my back
Mike_King: I step back, rolling my neck to ease it, and waiting for the "Wrestle on!" from the referee.
Jonners: Ref says "wrestle on"...... circling
Mike_King: I snap my trunks and move forward, arms raised and fingers wriggling. "Man enough to go muscle to muscle and find out who's stronger, Jonners?"
Jonners: Step forward, raise arms, wiggle fingers. Lock up, boots planted, muscling against you
Mike_King: I smile cos I know I'm going to enjoy this. I lock hands with you, legs wide for stability, and I push into you, my head over your shoulder and my furry chest against your smooth one.
Jonners: Push hard against you, trying to muscle you back to the ropes
Mike_King: I stumble before slamming down my feet and resisting. I push back into you, trying to bend you over and force you down to the canvas.
Jonners: We muscle against each other. You bend me over, forcing me to the canvas
Mike_King: As you go down I get a foot behind your knee and the leg trip takes you onto your back. I keep the interlock, forcing your hands over your head and against the mat as I lie on top of you, chest to chest and trunk to trunk. I start to try to wrap my legs round yours for a grapevine.
Jonners: Tripped down to the mat, you pressing down on me. Before you can grapevine my legs, I bridge up, bucking you off me
Mike_King: You come up and push me away. Too early in the match to keep you down like that I guess. I roll to the side and onto one knee and nod at you. "Nice, Jonners, very nice:"
Jonners: Roll on the mat, push up to my feet, circling
Mike_King: Up again and circle, arms raised.
Jonners: Step in, arms raised. At the last second, duck under your arms, headbutting your abs
Mike_King: Ooffff.... double over from the impact.
Jonners: Grab a reverse headlock, cinch your trunks, hoisting you up. Snap suplex to the mat
Mike_King: Up and over and I land with a thug, winded.
Jonners: Roll across your chest, hook a leg up high. Ref down, slapping the mat ONE!
Mike_King: I feel the canvas under my shoulders and hear the one count... what the!
Jonners: Pull your leg higher, ref slaps the mat TWO!
Mike_King: No way, I think. I twist hard and get a shoulder up.
Jonners: Ref taps me on the shoulder. DAMN! Roll and up
Mike_King: I take a couple of seconds and refocus. First pin attempt to my opponent but the last and winning one will be to me... I kick up and offer a quick handshake before dropping back and circling.
Jonners: Shake hand and circle. Step behind you. Slide my arms under your pits, pressing down on your neck, locking on a full nelson
Mike_King: "No, no!" I say when the ref asks me if I give. Instead I flex my shoulders and to work a small opening at the same time as slamming my ass into your abs. I shoot my arms up straight in the air and drop down, back to canvas, bringing up my legs to slam my boots into your chin as you stand over me.
Jonners: You drop to the mat, breaking the nelson. OOOOFFF.....your boots slam into my chin, staggering me back to the ropes
Mike_King: I am up fast and make to follow up with an attack but the ref holds me back, his hand on my chest, counting you on the ropes.
Jonners: Push off the ropes, rubbing my chin. Step in, grab a foot, tripping you to the mat, apply an ankle lock
Mike_King: My hands slap the canvas then I bring up my other let to try to spin you out of the hold.
Jonners: Twisting at your ankle. Roll across the mat as you spin out
Mike_King: I am up fast, determined to get the attack in this time. I knew this guy was skilled and quick, but I need to start taking the initiative in this fight.
Jonners: Roll on the mat and up, circling
Mike_King: I drop back into the ropes and use the momentum to launch myself at you, turning in midair for a flying tackle.
Jonners: You bounce off the ropes, catching me with a flying tackle. I catch you, but your momentum sends me crashing back to the mat, you landing on me
Mike_King: The referee drops as I trap our left arm in my legs and press your chin over to the mat with my left arm, my right hooking your leg...
Mike_King: 1ah!!!
Jonners: Free leg kicking, trying to break the pin
Mike_King: I lean into the hold as I feel you fight against me...
Mike_King: 2ah!!!
Jonners: Manage to kick out just before the three count
Mike_King: Damn!
Mike_King: I release the hold and sit back on my haunches, then give your hard pecs a friendly pat. “Next time!” I say as I wink at you and stand.
Jonners: Roll up.....leap up to catch you with a dropkick to your pecs
Mike_King: Surprise by your speed the drop kick lands and I fall back into the ropes.
Jonners: Quickly roll up, the ref holding me back
Mike_King: Wipe my hand across my hairy pecs and push off the ropes. “Wrestle on!” calls the ref as he stands aside and I dive forward with a head butt to your abs.
Jonners: OOOOFFFF....your headbutt catches my abs. Double up and stagger back
Mike_King: Lean over you and wrap my arms round your waist. I lift you up and you pivot so your back is to the canvas and I slam you to the mat.
Jonners: Slammed hard to the mat, back arching on impact. Roll and slowly up, arching my back
Mike_King: Ready for you as you stand. I grip your wrist and Irish whip you across the ring.
Jonners: Fly across the ring, hitting the ropes. Rebound off, leap up with a flying tackle
Mike_King: Catch you as you come at me and we struggle centre of the ring as I try to keep my balance and maybe turn it into a slam.
Jonners: Arms and legs flailing wildly, trying to overbalance you
Mike_King: I fight to hold you but as I try to shift you to a slamming position I lose my balance and topple over, back to canvas.
Jonners: Land on top of you, roll across your chest, pressing down. Hook a leg up high, ref drops down, slaps the mat ONE!
Mike_King: No way! I immediately buck under you and kick my leg in your grip.
Jonners: Bucked off you, roll on the mat and up, circling
Mike_King: I take a seven count on my knees, weighing up my options, then, as the ref calls, “8!” I dive forward, shoulder charging your abs and driving you back.
Jonners: OOOFFFF.......double up and stagger back to the ropes. Grab the top rope, pulling up
Mike_King: Ref holds me back as you get to your feet, eager to follow up on my attack.
Jonners: Push off the ropes. Grab a wrist and twist. Irish whip you to the far corner
Mike_King: Ready for you, I continue the spin and get a foot up. I push out of the corner with a flying head butt.
Mike_King: Aiming to connect with your head.
Jonners: See you push out of the corner, sidestep you, leaving you to crash to the mat
Mike_King: I fly past you and hit the canvas, getting my hands down first to lessen the impact. I roll onto my back, grinning up at you. "Nice shuffle, Jonners!" I say as I kick up to standing, snap my trunks, raise my hands and circle.
Jonners: Step in, grab your shoulders, bring my feet up into your abs. Monkey flip you to the mat
Mike_King: Whoaaa! I fly up and over and land heavily on my back, winded.
Jonners: Push up to my feet, circling
Mike_King: The ref starts a count and I take a moment then kick up on 6. "Wrestle on!" he calls and move in hands raised, then dive behind you and snap on a waist hold.
Jonners: You wrap your arms around my waist. Plant my feet, spin and reverse the hold. Quickly jump up, suplex you down to the mat. Roll back in a reverse folding press, pressing down hard. Ref down, slapping the mat ONE!
Mike_King: Surprised by the switch I find shoulders pressed hard into the canvas and hear the one count while I am still trying to figure out what happened and how my legs are jackknifed over me with your weight on them. I try to struggle and twist under you.
Jonners: Pressing down harder on your shoulders, ref slaps the mat TWO
Mike_King: I try to kick up my legs but there is not room for manoeuvre, I am down tight to the canvas.
Jonners: The ref slaps the mat THREE!
Jonners: DING! DING!
Jonners: Push up to my feet, arms raised, fans cheering
Mike_King: I bring my legs back over and lie on the canvas for a beat, letting my defeat sink in. I fought well, but this guy was just too good for me on the day.
Jonners: "Ladies and gentlemen, with a suplex and reverse folding press, your winner JONNERS!"
Jonners: Raise arms to cheering fans
Mike_King: I stand up and come over and offer a handshake.
Jonners: Shake your hand, raise your arm to the fans in acknowledgement of hard fought match
Mike_King: I hug you then return to my corner and pick up my towel before heading out of the ring. I get a few consolation slaps on the back as I pass but I know I was beaten fair and square... this time. There is always the rematch to even things out.
Jonners: Hug you back, take the cheers from the fans. Step out out the ring, head back to the locker room, high fiving with fans.

Great bout and given how much more experienced Jonners is I was so proud that Mike did so well and I reckon he has a great future ahead of him here. Can’t wait to see him in more action….

2025-07-07 22:32Yet another classic pro wrestling display in this bout too as 2 Brits go all out to defeat the other in another classic back and forth bout! This stud Mike King has definitely made a name for himself since starting out ..enjoying some big wins! Jobbers has been around a lot longer and right now is enjoying an impressive win streak. Mike tried so hard to break it but Jonners obvious confidence proved crucial in the end..getting the winning pinfall. Awesome action..hope you 2 have a rematch soon. Thanks for sharing this with us!

Boomer doesn’t recognize actual wrestling talent Mike and Jonners— he’s too busy resorting to dirty tactics.
This was a well written, classic Brit pro match that showed the skills and fair play you’d expect from two class guys.
I liked the description and detail that made the action legit and hot!
