Introduction

Sir Byron is the illegitimate mixed son of Lord John Byron, who famously survived a traumatic shipwreck on the HMS Wager. Though his birth was a scandal, no one challenged Lord Byron who had returned from the wrecked voyage a changed man. He didn't let his son out of his sight. He read to him nightly, took him with him to court, and to conduct business. As he grew, their relationship and bond strengthened. Lord Byron instilled in young John a love of reading and of the sea. His young son, who could never take over his inheritance and wealth because of prejudices 18th century, was the only person he ever confided in about his travels on the sea.

Finally, in his teenage years he was sent off to a naval boarding school, where he excelled academically in math, science, and of course everything nautical. But he had another secret love, fighting, and because he was the only black kid in the academy he had plenty of opportunities to get in fights, often in the woods after evening prayers. Of course this wasn't his only secret, because his love of fighting was accompanied by an even more unspoken erotic feeling he discovered for many of his male classmates. He's an adult now, ready to embark on his first adventure as a young midshipman on the Poseidon. He's heard rumors that the Poseidon is one of a few ships with an underground wrestling scene.
