Introduction

I would sneak into the local fair where the wrestling arena was to watch the wrestlers parading in the sideshow, flexing their muscles. Whenever one of the wrestlers was selected, the energy, excitement, and larger-than-life characters fueled my determination to step into the ring one day. I was a fan of senior pro wrestlers who enjoyed old-school, classic wrestling. I imagined myself as "Maskpurpleman," waiting in the corner.
